Pathways To Purpose Complies with 5101:2-5-13(A)(16) An agency which is certified to operate a residential facility shall have a written admissions policy specifying the
type of child who will be accepted into the facility and the conditions
under which a child would be admitted.
Program 1 (Garfield): Any pregnant and or parenting teen mother between 13-17 years of age or up to 21 years with a mental or physical handicap, who are in custody of DCFS and meet the criteria for foster care maintenance reimbursements may be admitted into Pathways To Purpose. The capacity of the home will accommodate up to 10 residents. Each resident will have their own bedroom, which shall be shared with their child. Residents should
not be permitted to stay longer than absolutely needed.
Program 2 (Cleveland): Any female adolescent between 12-17 years of age, or up to 21 years with a mental or physical handicap, who are in custody of DCFS and meet the criteria for foster care maintenance reimbursements may be admitted into Pathways To Purpose. The capacity of the home will
accommodate up to 8 residents, multiple occupancy bedrooms.
Residents should not be permitted to stay longer than absolutely needed.
Residents shall not be chronic runners, uncontrollably violent, alcohol or drug dependent or in need of continuous medical or nursing care aside from pre and postnatal care. Typically residents accepted have been exposed to violence, trauma, experienced multiple placements, loss of important
attachments and support and are at risk of being separated from their
biological child due to unstable, unsafe living arrangements if pregnant and or parenting.
Private payments/ Direct placements may also be considered as acceptable
in various cases, where the youth is not eligible for foster care maintenance reimbursement and placed by parent and or legal guardian.
